Forty Armenian orphans were officially adopted by (then) Negus Tefari Makonen (now Negusa Negast Haile Selassie), in Jerusalem 1924, and later trained to play in His Imperial orchestra.
The children were known as ‘The King’s kids’ to the Ethiopians. Marie Sarkissian is a descendant of the Armenian-Ethiopians, some still currently residing in Addis Ababa. Marie’s father is Armenian and her mother is Ethiopian.
Blessed be the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Three in one, Ahadu Amlak!
Blessed be all men made in the image of the Father.
